About Tyson
Tyson has worked with athletes competing at Oceania and Junior World Cycling, Rowing and Athletics champs. Furthermore has had various roles as a Strength & Conditioning Coach with Southland Stags Rugby, Southland Sharks Basketball and Southern Steel Netball. His previous role with Academy Southland allowed him to work with a range athletes from sports that included artistic swimming, swimming, archery, golf, football, netball, basketball, rugby, league, para cycling, table tennis, badminton, squash and many more.
Tyson focuses on building good relationships; Whakawhanaungatanga with his athletes, whanau and coaches. Tyson works with athletes and coaches to create training programs to support their journey throughout their season.
Tyson completed a Masters in Applied Science; The potentiating effects of different warm-up protocols on sprint cycling performance. In addition to his interests in Strength and conditioning, Tyson lectures within the Bachelor of Applied Science, specialising in Sport and Exercise Science at Ara Institute of Canterbury (City Campus).
